A week has now gone by again! But I have good reasons for not updating this time! I killed our poor laptop, dead and gone.
It seems that it wasn't waterproof, or juice proof as the case may be. The fine folks at Soyata wouldn't even take my $80 for diagnosis, they are convinced that the accident and the blue sparks I saw when trying to turn it back on had shorted out the motherboard. Oops.
They also mentioned it would cost a fortune to replace it, "go buy a new laptop" they said.
So, here I sit on our old hp desk top.....it's a tad slow and connected by a wire to the router. It is functional for now, until we find something to replace the laptop. I don't want Vista, so it either will be Mac (I am not sold on them) or finding a new one with XP. Soyata sells new systems with XP, in fact most systems they sell don't have Vista on them. BestBuy has a limited number with XP, so we really have to look around.
That was part of our excitement this week. I am still working everyday, but there was good news from my boss. Her new job is very flexible and we both are feeling good about going back to 4 days a week in 6 mos. My vacation should be able to remain the same, it was all good news!
