We had a "text book" IUI yesterday, amazing number increase.
DJ had been working on quitting smoking, and it has been about 3-4 months since he had his last cigerette. Now I never really know, since he only smoked at work and he had "quit" before but started back up. It generally takes 3 months for new sperm to generate and mature. Since his vasectomy reversal in January 2006, he has had low numbers. Yesterday, we were floored! His washed count (they wash the sperm to rid it of any slow pokes or dead) was about 47 million. In June it was about 11 million, which was the range since the reversal. The motility (how fast and straight they swim) went from just under 50% (50 is normal) to 68%. He deserves a high five, especially since I gave him the "I told you so" while the nurse was in the room.
We will know in 2 weeks if this worked, a very long 2 weeks!

Such great news.. Congrats to your DH for quitting smoking.. Thats a great thing.. and I have a great feeling that it will mean a baby in your near future!
Yo cuz, is there a website somewhere that explains all of the jargon in here? I don't want you to have to edit what you write to explain it to ignoramuses like me, but I don't know what MFI or most of the other abbreviations mean (follies I figured out. Look at the big brain on me!).
